The Kappa Lambda Brotherhood Endowment

The Kappa Lambda Brotherhood Endowment Fund at NC State University was established in 2014 by the brothers of the Kappa Lambda Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated. It is dedicated to empowering minority students who exemplify high academic achievement and a strong commitment to community service. Guided by the cardinal principles of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift, this fund seeks to provide scholarships that enable these exceptional students to excel academically, contribute to their communities, and lead with integrity and purpose. Preference for the award is given to students engaged in activities with the African-American Cultural Center or other programs sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs. Our mission is to foster the next generation of leaders who will uplift others and make a positive impact on society.

The Dr. Thomas E.H. Conway, Jr. Scholarship Endowment

The Thomas E.H. Conway, Jr. Scholarship Endowment Fund was established to honor the life and contributions of Dr. Thomas E.H. Conway, a transformative leader at NC State University who dedicated over 43 years to fostering student success and diversity. Dr. Conway’s legacy is marked by his unwavering commitment to African American students, serving in numerous leadership roles, including Vice Chancellor and Chief of Staff. His advocacy for institutional inclusion and his mentorship left an indelible impact on students, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds.

As a 1968 initiate of the Mu Psi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated at North Carolina A&T University, Dr. Conway became a close mentor, advocate, and inspiration to the brothers of the Kappa Lambda Chapter at NC State during his tenure.

The endowment, originally established through a generous gift from alumnus and fellow Kappa Lambda brother, Noel Bost, was later adopted by the chapter as its second endowed scholarship. It is dedicated to supporting students committed to serving the Black and African American community, ensuring that Dr. Conway’s legacy of mentorship, scholarship, and social change continues to inspire future generations of Omega Men and NC State students.
